Craig Anderson signed to the Ottawa Senators for four years for a total of $12.75 Million. Anderson was acquired Feb. 18th in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche that sent them slumping goalie Brian Elliott. It's a great move for several reasons.
1- Craig Anderson is not on crutches when acquired, unlike Pascal Leclaire. That's a plus! Signing a goalie while injured for $4 million a year didn't make a lot of sense and foreshadowed the future in my opinion.
2- I've watched Anderson through my various hockey pools and he was blue chip goalie last year and has a lot potential.
3- Again he's not on crutches when signed.
